Future Educators Academy

Future Academy Flyer Challenge of a first year teacher

Are you looking to make a difference in your community by educating children? Consider the Future Educators Academy at Vanguard High School to help your goal of becoming a teacher! The Future Educators Academy introduces teachers of tomorrow to the profession of education. This academy includes hands-on experiences and a behind-the-scenes look at what it really takes to be a great teacher. Our students will have many opportunities over the course of the four-year academy to get a true taste for the profession that affects so many lives. Practical experiences include class field trips, guest speakers, and teacher assisting opportunities at Vanguard High School and local elementary schools. FEA has an on-going interning partnership with Oakcreast Elementary School. FEA students will have a full-spectrum view of what being a teacher is truly all about.

Students will earn their ParaProfessional Certification while participating in the program. The ParaPro Assessment is a general aptitude test that is required in many states for paraprofessional certificate. It also offers school districts an objective assessment of your foundation of knowledge and skills. This certification will help students take the necessary steps to become a teacher’s assistant within Marion County or other school districts throughout the country.

Our overall goal for the Future Educator Academy is to introduce, develop, direct, and hire homegrown educators to return to Marion County Public Schools to help fill the ever-increasing need for quality educators in our local schools.
