The mission of Vanguard High School is that Vanguard High School will be a safe, caring center for excellence that meets student and community needs through innovative academic and extracurricular programs, committed parental involvement, and exposure to opportunities for success.

International Baccalaureate Program
The school and community are mutually and continually involved in a multitude of projects. With the approval of the International Baccalaureate Organization, Vanguard began its affiliation year in 1996 when it became the 26th high school in Florida offering this prestigious program.

VANGUARD HIGHSCHOOL GRADUATION CONTRACT Abreviated.pdf (includes guidelines for graduation, dress code, expectations for behavior, honor distinctions, etc.)

Graduation Map for Parking.pdf(graduates  ONLY will enter through Gate 6 behind the pavilion and park inside the gates) please read for more details. Graduates being dropped off, will walk from the gate to the arena and guests will drive to the front of the Livestock Pavilion to park.

VANGUARD HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION PROGRAM

Students on track for graduation will receive a yard sign on Friday May 2nd. 

Cap and gowns will be handed out during lunch on the stage in the Knights' Union on Friday May 16th. If you have not purchased you will do so at 4:00 before the graduation ceremony for $ 95.00 CASH ONLY.  We are using a new cap and gown company this year. You will NOT be able to use a gown from a sibling, etc. that was used in the past. You will need to purchase the new style gown.  CAPS ARE NOT TO BE DECORATED! $ 20 FEE FOR A NEW ONE AT GRADUATION. NO PERSONALIZED SASHES, METALS, ETC. STUDENT CAN ONLY WEAR WHAT VHS PROVIDES TO THEM. Please hold on to these items so that your student can take pictures with them after the ceremony.

Programs will not be printed for guests attending graduation. Keepsake programs will be provided to the students along with their diplomas. They will also have one on their seat at graduation. Anyone attending graduation will scan a code at the entrance to access the printed program. 

Gates will open at 4:30 for entry. No tickets will be required and seating is first come first served. Please don't save seats. Ballons will not be permitted in the stands. You will be asked to tie them to the outside fence to obtain after graduation. Law enforcement will be overseeing saving seats and balloons at entry. Also, fog horns are not permitted during graduation. 

Students will enter Gate 6 via NE 6th Street and park inside the Livestock fences. ONLY students driving themselved may park inside. You will drop off your student at Gate 6 and then drive around to the Livestock entry to park. 

Mandatory practice is Friday May 30th at 9:00 sharp. Do not schedule an appointments until after 12:00. Graduates must arrive back to the Livestock Pavilion by 4:30 for graduation.

Class of 2026 Yearbook Senior Pictures

The current juniors received information flyers at their meeting on 4/15. A poster is also posted around campus with a QR scan code to make appointment.  Pictures are taken over the summer at the SWI studio off 40 in the Cascades Plaza. Call 800-226-0453 or visit the website swiphoto.com

All conditions MUST be met to attend VHS ACTIVITIES:

 

  • 2.0 unweighted cumulative GPA
  • Debt Free from Skyward and Destiny (textbooks and library books)
  • Less than 10 days combined In-School and Out-of-School Suspensions.
  • No more than 5 tardies to school and/or 5 unexcused absences (during specified dates prior to events).
