The mission of Vanguard High School is that Vanguard High School will be a safe, caring center for excellence that meets student and community needs through innovative academic and extracurricular programs, committed parental involvement, and exposure to opportunities for success.

International Baccalaureate Program
The school and community are mutually and continually involved in a multitude of projects. With the approval of the International Baccalaureate Organization, Vanguard began its affiliation year in 1996 when it became the 26th high school in Florida offering this prestigious program.

AWARD NIGHT: Tuesday May 12th at 6:00 pm (students to arrive by 5:30), Generation Church (formally Ocala First Assembly of God) on 14th Street in Ocala. This event is by invitation ONLY. Parents and families are welcome to attend. Student will receive an invitation on Monday April 27th and and RSVP is required. This is a very special night! Our faculty can only award one student per subject area taught. Please make every effort to attend. Contact Ms. Stephens with questions. 

YEARBOOKS...don't miss out before we sell out. Yearbook Order Link They will be handed out Thursday April 30th during lunch on the stage. 

CAP & GOWN ORDERS: (WILL BE DELIVERED MONDAY MAY 18TH DURING LUNCH ON THE STAGE)  Click Here to Order Your Cap & Gown you can order all year...BUT the price will increase in January and again in May. We are using a new vendor as of last school year. Your child will not be able to wear a sibling gown unless the student graduated and purchased the new gown last year. You will be asked to enter your home address BUT they will be delivered to VHS and handed out during lunch on Monday May 18th.   

SENIOR YARD SIGNS: We do not have the funding to purchase this year. They can be purchased via the SWIphoto.com website. 

Baccalaureate: May 21st (Generation Church formally Ocala First Assembly of God) 6:00 - 7:00 pm - Non denominational (Community Sponsored Event) church service. Graduates wear their cap and gowns and walk in to Pomp and Circumstance. Fellow graduates will sing, read scripture, provide prayers, etc.

Graduation Practice: May 28th 9:00AM - 12:00 PM (NEW TIME) (Mandatory to walk Friday) Do NOT schedule appointments until after 12:00 pm. 

Graduation: May 29th (Southeastern Livestock Pavilion) 8:00 - 9:30 am (No Tickets will be required.) Gates for guests will open at 6:30 am. No saving seats, no balloons in the stands, no pictures on graduation floor after graduation (NMHS has to set up for practice following our graduation). Weapon detection systems will be in place at entry. These will also detect metal objects such as umbrellas and eyeglass cases.

  • 2.0 unweighted cumulative GPA
  • Debt Free from Skyward and Destiny (textbooks and library books)
  • No more than 10 days In-School Suspension, Out-of-School Suspensions, and PASS (cumulative to 25-26 school year)
  • No more than 5 unexcused tardies/checkouts (during specified dates)
  • No more than 10 unexcused absences (during specified dates)
